Hot weather

Re: Hot Weather Arrangements

With very warm weather expected next week, we have put a heatwave plan in place to keep children safe and comfortable.

We will:

• Keep rooms as cool as possible using blinds, ventilation, and fans where suitable
• Ensure children have regular access to water and are encouraged to drink frequently
• Limit outdoor play during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm) and use shaded areas
• Provide indoor activities such as water play
• Apply extra monitoring for signs of heat-related illness

Please ensure your child arrives with:

• Sun cream already applied (SPF 50+)
• A named sun hat
• Light, cool clothing
• A water bottle if you think your child needs one.

If you feel more comfortable keeping your child at home during the hot weather, you are welcome to do so—please just inform us as usual.

We will continue to follow guidance under the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and prioritise children’s wellbeing at all times.
