Thanks for signing up to join us on our farm adventure! It’s going to be a fantastic day, and we want everyone to stay safe and have fun. If the weather is really bad, we may make the decision to postpone the trip. We will let you know by 8:30 on the day.
Please take a quick look at these important points:
🚌 Getting to the Farm
Mudchute Farm is on the Isle of Dogs. We’ll be traveling by bus and DLR. Here’s the plan:
- Bus 47 to Deptford Bridge (about 12 minutes)
- Then hop on the DLR to Island Gardens (about 5 minutes)
- It’s just a 10-minute walk from the station through a park to the farm!
You can either come with us from school or meet us at the farm. We’re leaving school at 10:00 and aim to be back by 2:00 (or 2:15 at the latest).
📝 What to bring:
- Wear old clothes (maybe waterproof) and welly boots or old trainers for you and your child – it could get muddy! 🌧️
- Pack a lunch for you and your child.
- There’s also a café at the farm if you’d prefer to buy food or just sit inside and relax.
- If you’re bringing a buggy and a younger child, it’s best to meet us at Deptford Bridge DLR. The buses only take two buggies at a time, so it might be tricky if we all bring one!
👩⚕️ Important Safety Stuff:
- will be the first aider for this trip
- On the bus, all children must be seated – safety first!
- We’ll always be in the first or last train carriage on the DLR – depending on which way we’re going.
- If you need to see the risk assessment, it's available on our website or just ask us!
📅 At the Farm:
- Once we arrive, feel free to explore the farm at your own pace 🐄🐑
- We’ll aim to have lunch together around 12:15-12:30
- We’ll leave the farm at 12:45-1:00 and stop by island Gardens playground for a bit of fun before heading back.
